Women's Tennis Falls to Penn State Behrend

FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State women’s tennis team fell to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival Penn State Behrend 2-7, Sunday afternoon.

The Bobcats are currently 7-9 overall and 3-3 in the AMCC.

In No. 2 singles, junior Sarah Eisel (Frostburg, Md./Beall) downed Mindy Calvert, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6. Eisel is now 9-7 overall and 4-2 in the conference.

The Bobcats other win came in No. 5 singles, when sophomore Amy Brenneman (Grantsville, Md./Northern Garrett) beat Kelly Matalka, 6-1, 6-3. Brenneman improves to 3-6 overall and 2-2 in league play.

FSU lost four singles matches and all three doubles matches.

Frostburg State returns to action October 15 at 9:00 am, when they travel to the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, Pa. for the AMCC Championships.
