Women's Tennis Loses to Penn State Behrend

ERIE, Pa. - The Frostburg State women's tennis team opened Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action, Friday evening, with a 8-1 loss to Penn State Behrend.

FSU falls to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the AMCC while PSB opens its season 1-0 overall in 1-0 in league play.

Junior Sarah Eisel (Frostburg, Md./Beall) recorded the only Frostburg State victory with a win over Mindy Calvert in No. 2 singles, 1-6, 7-6, 7-6.

Junior Kimberly Hardy (Centreville, Md./Queen Anne's) and freshman Ebony Beverly (Baltimore, Md./Western) had a solid performance in No 3. doubles against Amy Brem and Jen Balsiger. The PSB duo won a close battle, 9-8, and later took the tie breaker 7-4.

Frostburg State returns to action tomorrow at the Penn State Behrend Invitational.
