Jamie Winters, assistant director of Organizations and Community Programming at Frostburg State University, is a 2024 recipient of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). The PVSA recognizes individual's dedication to volunteer service and their impact in strengthening and giving back to their communities.
When Phi Sigma Pi announced that alumni members could participate in a service challenge, I wasn't sure how many hours I could achieve with a full-time career,” said Winters. “I love helping others, and it is the reason I joined two of my national organizations, Alpha Phi Omega National Fraternity and Delta Zeta National Sorority. Giving graciously of what is mine is a value I hold very true to my heart, and Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity offered me a great opportunity to be recognized for something I love doing.
Winters’ volunteer service hours as of June 30 (a minimum of 100 hours) qualified her for the bronze-level award. She is one of 40 award recipients from across the country to earn an award in this category. In addition, Winters will also receive an official PVSA bronze medal, a certificate of achievement signed by President Biden and recognition from the Phi Sigma Pi National Office.
