COVID-19 Updates and Information

Emergency Aid Resources for Students

Updated information for the spring 2021 term is not yet available. The changes to our educational and living situations have created hardships for many of our students. Here are some resources to help alleviate these situations:

CARES Act Assistance

U.S. Department of Education has issued federal funds to be distributed to students to help cover financial hardship. (Instituional reports are also available here.)

CARES Act Information

INFORMATION ABOUT residential AND off-campus students are eligibilty for CARES Act funding towards housing costs is coming soon. FALL ELIGIBILITY IS CLOSED. Information for Spring 2021 has not been determined.

CLOSED: Students living on campus for Fall 2020 (including Edgewood)
CLOSED: Students living off campus for Fall 2020

CARES Act Information

  1. UPDATE: Read the interim report of funds provided to students through Dec. 31, 2020 here. All of the University's CARES Act Funding Reports can be found here.
  2. A work group composed of four administrators and two student leaders was formed to develop the criteria for applying and issuing awards, following guidelines issued by the Department of Education. Input from the students was critical to the development of both the criteria and the process. The goal was to provide relief to those students with the greatest need — not a blanket, equal distribution of the funds to all students without regard to need.
  3. The awards were designed to assist students whose financial circumstances were affected negatively as a direct result of the interruption of on-campus studies caused by COVID-19. These circumstances could include housing, utilities, food, transportation, technology, childcare, etc.
