COVID-19 Updates and Information

Moving Out of On-Campus Housing

Because Frostburg State University Residence Halls are closed for the Spring 2020 semester, current resident student need to check out of the residence halls.

In keeping with CDC guidance regarding social distancing, the University is limiting the number of students who can be in the buildings at any given time to collect their belongings. Please use the housing portal to choose a move out day and time. Please note that you will only have card access to the building during the time you signed up to move out your belongings.

Twenty-five spots are available in each move-out appointment. During your appointment, you will have 2-hour access to your building building only. We ask that you arrive promptly at the beginning of that period and move out as swiftly as possible so that the buildings do not become congested.

Please limit elevator use to one family at a time, and practice good social distancing (6 feet) from others in the hallways. Wash hand frquently during move out.

If you have packages to pick up from the mailroom, please choose a move-out time between 8-4:30 on a weekday. The mailroom will be staffed for package pickup. Any unclaimed items will be returned to sender.

You will find an express checkout form and key envelope in your room.

  1. Put your keys in the envelope.
  2. Fill out the form.
  3. Keep the yellow copy.
  4. Staple the white copy to the sealed key envelope.
  5. Deposit it in the express checkout box on the wall near your hall office.

Once you have returned your keys, please log back into your housing portal to complete your express checkout.

If you have been exposed or are symptomatic, please email us at and we will work with you to schedule a time 2 weeks after exposure or symptoms.

If you have a special circumstance and would like to be considered for an approval to remain on-campus, please complete this form. You will get a response within 24 hours. Please note that all decisions are final.

The Residence Life Office is still here for you. Your hall director will be reaching out to you over the next few weeks to support you as you continue your courses online. We are here to help you and connect you with resources, and information as we transition into this new learning environment.

The Residence Life Office website has an FAQ and information about move out if you would like more information.

Room selection for Fall is still ongoing.
