Why do you love FSU?

Oh my goodness, so many things about FSU hold a special place in my heart. I found so many mentors in students, faculty and staff who really helped me through many different challenges. So many people care about you as a person and it is so comforting. FSU gave me the opportunity to do many things that prepared me for my career and I will always treasure that!

Why do you give back (time, talent and/or treasure) to FSU?

I have always recognized that many of my opportunities during my time in college were available because of passionate and generous alumni who were willing to donate their time and commit to current students. We’re all Bobcats and Bobcats help each other.

What do you do for fun?

I have a new kitten that we adopted from the shelter about a month ago. His name is Walt, and he is so cute. I can sit and watch him play for hours! Other than that, I love going for walks with my family. I also watch an alarming amount of Netflix.

Tell us about a class or activity at FSU that has had a surprising effect on your life.

When I enrolled in Corporate Finance my sophomore year, I thought I was just getting a required class out of the way. It turns out that I use finance almost every day. I never thought I would end up working in banking, especially because that finance class was not easy. You never know if one of those required classes you dread taking will help you later on in life.

Favorite movie?

My favorite movie is “Mamma Mia.” It’s so fun and light and is my go-to comfort movie for a nice Friday night. Every Friday morning, I start my day by listening to ABBA because it puts me in such a great mood to get ready for the weekend.

What is your favorite memory of your time as a Frostburg student?

My favorite memory of my time at FSU is all of the laughs and conversations in the Student Government Association office. It was such a fun place to be with other senators (outside of our official meetings). You never knew where the conversation would lead. There were always people there to help you with your homework. I basically lived in the office between classes and enjoyed every minute of it.

Favorite comfort food?

Quesadillas! I can taste them right now. They are so versatile.  You can add whatever toppings.  And anything with melted cheese just makes you feel warm and full.

What profession (other than your own) would you like to attempt?

I have always thought it would be interesting to go into law. The legal system and how it has evolved over the years is such an interesting topic to discuss. I actually had jury duty last year and absolutely LOVED the day I got to be part of a trial. Who knows where life will take me?
