Is there a clinical experience requirement?
Yes, students are required to perform 135 hours of clinical service: an average of 9 hours in the clinical experience each week, every semester. Students can complete their clinical hours while enrolled in NURS 495 Population-Focused Nursing Practice Practicum.

How do I know what courses I still need to take?
Compare your college transcripts or grade reports to the list of prerequisites above. If you need further assistance, call (
301-687-3418), e-mail (drsaunders@frostburg.edu), or fax (301-687-3164) unofficial transcripts of your college coursework to Dan Saunders, the ATB Coordinator, for the Program. Please allow two weeks for your review.

How do I apply?
Students should complete an application for admission to Frostburg State University. The application may be submitted online with a $45 application fee.  Students must submit official college transcripts for ALL previous college credit.  Once the student applies and the transfer credits are reviewed, they will receive an acceptance letter and a transfer credit evaluation from the Admissions Office if they meet admission criteria.  Once the application is submitted and also once tuition deposit is paid, please notify ATB Coordinator Dan Saunders at 301-687-3418 or drsaunders@frostburg.edu.

How long will the program take?
A student can obtain an Associate's to Bachelor's degree in as little as 9 semesters, including winter and summer intersessions.

Where are classes held?
The Nursing content is delivered online with synchronous 'virtual' classes scheduled for some courses to enhance understanding of the content. This means that you choose your classroom - whether it is your home, workplace, or the local library. Leadership and Human Behavior, Advanced Composition, and many electives are also offered online so students will be able to complete their coursework entirely in an online format. It is never required that you come to campus, although we welcome you at any time.

How much will it cost?
A list of current tuition and fees at Frostburg State University is available at http://www.frostburg.edu/ungrad/expense/
