The presentation of Danú is sponsored by the Lewis J. Ort Library in observation of Irish American Heritage Month.

Manicur Assembly Hall, Lane University Center

With a buoyant style described by The Washington Post as “a vibrant mix of virtuosity, energy and empathy,” Danú has emerged as one of the world’s foremost Irish music ensembles. Irish Music Magazine declared that Danú “stirs the blood and lifts the heart.”

For two decades, the band’s virtuosi players on flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion and bouzouki, and their vocals, have brought spirit-raising music to audiences around the globe. Praised by The New York Times for “fierce fiddle reels” and “pensive ballads,” Danú arrives at the perfect time of year to share a glorious mix of traditional Irish music.

WFWM 91.9CES joins forces with Frostburg State University’s own WFWM-FM to present the Offstage Series With WFWM. After select performances, WFWM station director Chuck Dicken joins the artists onstage for a lively interactive discussion with the audience.
