Student Athlete Advisory Committee Executive Board Room Dedication
The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) undertook an effort to raise funds to name a space in the Adams/Wyche Center for Academic Excellence in honor of the 2023-2024 Executive Committee. On April 4, 2026, we officially unveiled the space and were joined by former and current members of SAAC.
The Nowaczyk Family Children's Literature Centre
The FSU campus gathered for the renaming of the Children’s Literature Centre to the Nowaczyk Family Children’s Literature Centre in honor of the family of FSU’s late president, Dr. Ronald Nowaczyk. Dr. Nowaczyk’s wife, Maureen Lavan, and son, Jake, shared remarks of gratitude, along with Interim President Darlene Brannigan Smith, PhD; Dean Dr. Boyce C. Williams; CLC Centre Director, Dr. Sarah O’Neal '04/M'05; and CLC Co-Founders, Dr. Thomas Palardy and Dr. Bill Bingman. Nearly 100 members of the campus and community, as well as friends of the Nowaczyk family, were in attendance.
Planetarium Grand Reopening
FSU celebrated the grand reopening of its newly revitalized Planetarium with a special gathering that highlighted its renewed role as a hub for STEM education and community engagement. The event showcased the Planetarium as the central feature of FSU’s Catherine R. Gira Center for Communications and Information Technology building and a dynamic asset for hands-on learning, discovery and public outreach. The Planetarium revitalization project was made possible through a combination of funding sources, including a federal community funding earmark and generous donor support.
