Engagement & Sharing

Timi Hadra

Dear Profile Readers,

It is a great honor to serve as President of the FSU Foundation Board of Directors, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share our priorities for the years ahead with the Frostburg State University community.

Before looking ahead, I want to express my sincere appreciation to Dr. Darlene Brannigan Smith for her outstanding leadership as interim president. During a pivotal time for the University, she led with wisdom, dedication and an unwavering commitment to FSU. We are deeply grateful for her service.

I also want to welcome Dr. Shadow JQ Robinson as FSU’s new president. It is already evident that he is embracing both our campus and the Mountain Maryland community, and I am excited about the opportunities ahead under his leadership.

Finally, I want to thank immediate past Foundation Board President, Mr. Pat Friel '88, for his exceptional leadership over the past three years, including guiding the successful completion of the Forging Futures Campaign. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our alumni and friends, the campaign raised over $36.7 million in support of Frostburg State University and its students.

As we build on that momentum, the Foundation’s work over the next three years will focus on two priorities: Engagement and Sharing

Engagement means strengthening the connection between alumni and FSU in ways that go far beyond financial support. Through conversations with graduates across generations, we’ve heard a common message: alumni want more opportunities to stay connected—to campus, to students and to one another. Whether through attending events, mentoring students, volunteering, sharing professional expertise, advocating for FSU or supporting University initiatives through philanthropy, every form of engagement strengthens our University. Our goal is to create more meaningful opportunities for alumni to reconnect, participate and remain an active part of the Bobcat family. Here is a link to the alumni website page that lists all of our upcoming events.

Sharing means telling the story of FSU more often—and more effectively. Every scholarship awarded, every student opportunity created, every faculty innovation supported and every campus improvement made possible through the Foundation reflects the generosity and commitment of our alumni and friends. We want to do a better job of showing how your time, expertise, advocacy and philanthropy create lasting impact. By sharing these stories more consistently, we hope every alumnus and friend will have new reasons to celebrate, champion and proudly tell the story of Frostburg State University.

On behalf of the Foundation Board, thank you for your continued support of FSU. We look forward to engaging with you in new ways, sharing the impact of your support more openly and hearing your ideas about how we can better serve our alumni community. Whether you contribute your time, expertise, advocacy or philanthropy, every contribution strengthens Frostburg State University and helps shape its future. Together, we will continue building a vibrant university that inspires pride, transforms lives and serves generations of Bobcats to come.

Warm regards,
