FSU Announces Leadership Appointments and Administrative Transitions
Frostburg State University announced several leadership appointments and transitions across the institution.
The search for the next Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences concluded without a successful appointment. FSU relaunched the search on August 1 with the goal of having a new dean in place at the start of the 2027 calendar year. Dr. Steve Combs will continue serving as Interim Dean through December 31, 2026, and Dr. Matthew Crawford '06 was appointed Associate Dean, effective June 24.
Effective July 1, Dr. Boyce C. Williams stepped down from her role as Dean of the College of Education, Behavioral and Health Professions after many years of distinguished leadership and service to the University. To ensure a smooth transition in academic leadership, Dr. Yum Nguyen is serving as Interim Dean while the University conducts a national search for a permanent dean.
Also effective July 1, Jennifer Walsh assumed additional responsibilities for government relations and is now the Senior Associate Vice President for Regional Engagement and Government Relations. In this expanded role, she will continue strengthening regional partnerships while working closely with the President and the University System of Maryland to advocate for Frostburg State University at the state and federal levels.
