Show Your Bobcat Pride and Support Athletics

This fall, the Bobcat teams participated in the #BobcatPride Athletic Team Challenge, seeking gifts to meet an overall goal of $50,000. All told, the challenge raised $56,035, which is 112% of goal.

The FSU Athletic programs are home to more than 600 student-athletes, and gifts to Bobcat Athletics will help provide a meaningful experience.

The Tennis team raised the highest percentage of funds between Oct. 15 and Nov. 30 raising 256.5% of their team goal. That translates to an extra $1,000 towards their program and the trophy.

The second-place team, Softball, which raised raising 187.4% of their team goal, will also be receiving an extra $500 towards their program.

You can still give to Athletics, and there are a number of specific projects seeking funding:

  • Track Renovation: An effort is under way to recognize Coaches Bob Lewis and Charlie Hircock by naming the track in their honor. The goal is to raise $350,000 that will go directly to renovating the track; upgrading its surface; and creating a home for University, local and regional track meets for years to come.

  • Softball Scoreboard: The existing scoreboard for the softball field is old-fashioned and in need of a replacement or major upgrade. The cost for the purchase and installation of a scoreboard is $37,500.

  • HitTrax Simulator: A HitTrax® Simulator will redefine training by providing key metrics for hitters and pitchers to measure performance and automated reports to chart progress. The cost of a HitTrax® Simulator is $20,000.

  • Bobcat Stadium Complex: Upgrades to Frostburg State’s Bobcat Stadium Complex helped position the University to achieve Division II status and grow its athletic programs by recruiting quality student-athletes and increasing alumni and donor relations. These stadium improvements create many recognition opportunities for individuals and organizations who wish to have their name or that of their loved ones permanently associated with FSU Athletics and the complex.
