FSU Foundation Establishes Coach Brian Parker ADX Women's Soccer Scholarship

Celebrating a legacy of excellence that includes an astounding 300 career wins, Frostburg State University is proud to announce the establishment of the Coach Brian Parker ADX Women’s Scholarship. The endowed fund, established by Jay D. Zutant, was created to support student athletes while honoring a legacy figure in Bobcat athletics history. 

The scholarship was established by Jay D. Zutant '92 and fellow donors to honor their fraternity brother, Brian Parker ‘92. Parker’s legacy at FSU is defined by excellence. During his time as head coach of the Women’s Soccer program, he achieved a monumental milestone of 300 wins, solidifying his place as the 5th coach across all sports in school history to reach that milestone. 

“Brian was our fraternity president back in the late 80's and helped to bring the fraternity back to a leadership role among the university and broader community,” Zutant, said. “We were highly engaged on campus, leading the Greek orgs, excelling in athletics and present in our community via our work with the Brandenberg Center in Cumberland." 

The endowment will be administered by the FSU Foundation, and a portion of the earnings will be distributed annually to provide scholarships indefinitely. This ensures that Coach Parker’s commitment to student athletes' success will continue to benefit the university for generations to come. 

"Since graduation Brian has been the reason we brothers have maintained connection by serving as the liaison between the actives and alumni but continues to organize things like an annual breakfast and golf tournament, ADX founding banquets and any good reason to get together," recalled Zutant. "We are all so thankful for what Brian has done and meant to all of us that we wanted to do this for him.” 

According to the scholarship’s guidelines, FSU Athletics will be responsible for announcing the availability of the award and reviewing applicants. 

The Coach Brian Parker ADX Women’s Scholarship joins a growing list of efforts aimed at enhancing the student athletes’ experience at FSU. By creating this scholarship, the university continues to strive for a better future for student athletes.
