Recent Dedications
Belt Pavilion
On Sunday, April 14, 2024, Bobcat Pavilion in Bobcat Stadium was dedicated in honor of Carl and Jane Belt and their Belt Construction Group of Companies. The Belts, both having been awarded Honorary Alumnus status, have been long time supporters of Frostburg State University and provided funding to support the construction. Carl and Jane are joined by their daughter Meredith Belt Irons M'10, son-in-law Jeremy Irons '04, and two of their grandchildren.
Cordts Garden
On Monday, April 22, 2024, Frostburg State University dedicated the Jeanne M. Cordts Memorial Garden. Jeanne taught part-time at Frostburg State Teachers’ College in the late 1950’s, supported the efforts of her husband who chaired the FSU Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation for 37 years, raised five children, and held various leadership roles in the Journal of the Alleghenies, Historic District Commission, American Association of University Women, and the Garden Club. In October 2023, more than 130 FSU students, along with members of the FSU faculty, staff and facilities crew, friends from the House & Garden Club of Frostburg, and family members gathered together to plant this garden in memory of Jeanne M. Cordts. In two days they planted 3300 daffodil bulbs and 112 native perennials.
Galliher Memorial Garden
A memorial garden and plaque have been dedicated to long-time FSU employee Don Galliher who passed away last year. Galliher worked for 33 years and used his green thumb to plant flowers and greenery around the campus. He was committed to making FSU inviting and beautiful for everyone.
