#BobcatGivingDay Raises over $200K for FSU Students
Bobcat generosity was no joke on April 1 when the 4th Annual #BobcatGivingDay came to a close. The Frostburg community raised $206,415 for FSU scholarships, programs and funds to benefit FSU students.
This year’s winner of the $5,000 challenge by the FSU Foundation Board of Directors (for the most donors) was awarded to Athletics Softball from the Athletics category with 245 donors.
Earning the $2,000 first-place prize in the remaining four categories included Children's Literature Outreach and Staffing Fund with 72 donors, FSU Chapter of the American Marketing Association with 63 donors, PAWS Food Pantry with 39 donors and the McGreevy Family Visual Arts Scholarship with 38 donors.

The second-place prize recipients of $500 included Athletics Baseball, College of Arts, Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences, FSU C.A.N.O.E. (Center for Advancement of Natural and Outdoor Experiences), Frances Ann Shaw Memorial Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers and the newly created Ronald H. Nowaczyk Scholarship, established in memory of the FSU president who passed away in January.
Stephanie R. Loar ’12, Annual Giving specialist and #BobcatGivingDay organizer, said a total of 1,635 individuals were part of this year’s event.
“Thank you to the donors who participated and for following along with the matches, challenges and surprises,” Loar said. “We appreciate you for advocating for your fund and making a difference for FSU students. They are the true winners of this successful campaign.”
Mark your calendar for Wednesday, April 1, 2026, when #BobcatGivingDay will return with new goals, prizes and surprises.
