FSU student Rebecca West holds the title of Miss Cumberland 2023 and Miss Mountain City 2024. And as of Aug. 2, West can add 2026 Miss Maryland Volunteer to her list of accomplishments. 

According to their website, the Miss Maryland Volunteer Pageant is one of the nation's leading achievement programs and providers of scholarship assistance for young women.

A Miss Maryland representative noted, "From arrival ceremony to crowning moment, Rebecca West brought elegance, confidence and heart to every step of the journey." West will now begin her year of service representing Maryland. 

West is an early childhood/elementary education major at Frostburg. She is a member of Phi Eta Sigma, a peer mentor and a member of the cheerleading team. West is also a certified dementia caregiver who works closely with families dealing with loved ones suffering from the disease.
