FORGING FUTURES
Forging Futures
Students, University, Region to Benefit
On Sept. 15, 2021, Frostburg State University launched the public phase of its largest fundraising campaign in the school’s 124-year history, Forging Futures: The Campaign for Frostburg State University. The $25 million campaign is the first since the Staking Our Claim campaign that ended in 2011 and raised $16.7 million.
The campaign will focus on supporting those areas that make up the purpose of Frostburg State, Forging the Future of our students, our University and our region. While the coronavirus pandemic forced the launch event online, the virtual program had the benefit of being available to alumni everywhere. It can still be viewed at the campaign website: www.frostburg.edu/forgingfutures.
“We see this as a great opportunity to engage our alumni and friends in forging the future of this institution, its students and our region,” said John T. Short, Jr., vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the FSU Foundation.
“Frostburg State’s students are our top priority as a university and a priority in this campaign,” said President Nowaczyk. “The support for Forging Futures will allow us to continue to provide transformational educational experiences to students of all ages and educational levels.”

Forging Futures: The Campaign for Frostburg State University
Three themes: Students, the University and the Region.
Forge the Future of Our Students
by continuing to provide a transformational education experience to those who attend.
Forge the Future of the University
as we continue to evolve from the school that coal miners first envisioned to prepare teachers – in the late 1890s – to today and beyond as a regional comprehensive university.
Forge the Future of the Region
as a major economic driver and cultural hub for a dynamic rural region.
Beyond these themes are six priorities for funding.

The Annual Fund
Support for the Annual Fund helps to sustain the unique opportunities and enduring excellence that are part of an FSU education.

Increasing Enrollment
Enrollment, important to the financial foundation of the University, will be aided by the scholarships and grants Frostburg State University needs to place the opportunity for higher education within reach of all.

Student Success
Supporting initiatives for student success will help enhance opportunities for the learning experiences and future success of our students across more than 100 areas of study.

Student Experience
Supporting the student experience will help provide resources that lead to opportunities for student growth, such as professional development, internships, research, study abroad and athletics.

Regional Outreach
Support for regional outreach ensures that FSU can continue to create partnerships within the region to drive economic and educational development.

Capital Needs
Support for capital needs funds projects that continue to improve our campus and enhance our students’ lives, such as a multicultural center, collaborative classrooms and athletics facilities.
