Helping Students Receive the Education They Need and Deserve

Sandy Adams, Board Chair

It is my honor to be the chair of the FSU Foundation Board of Directors, a group of alumni and other friends of FSU, who give their time, talent and treasure to help our students of today and tomorrow receive the transformational education and experience they need and deserve.

About five years ago, we launched the quiet phase of a comprehensive campaign to support the University’s needs, raising more than $15.5 million during that time. On Sept. 15, 2021, we launched the public phase of Forging Futures: The Campaign for Frostburg State University. At that virtual launch, students, faculty, administrators, alumni and community leaders spoke about our plans to raise more than $25 million to help forge the future of our students, our university and our community. You can view the launch at frostburg.edu/forgingfutures.

Although Forging Futures is ultimately a fundraising campaign, there are other ways you can help support our students. These include:

  • Helping us with recruiting activities to find the next generation of Bobcats
  • Helping current students with opportunities for internships or their first jobs
  • Mentoring students, especially those pursuing a field like yours
I also hope that you will join me by financially supporting University priorities, such as:
  • Providing additional financial aid to help students attend, and graduate from, FSU
  • Updating classrooms, studios and labs
  • Updating equipment and technology
  • Creating new work/study spaces in all academic buildings and residence halls
  • Updating athletic facilities

Please take the time to read about all of our campaign priorities in this issue of Profile, as well as to hear from some of our students and donors. Remember, all gifts, no matter their size, are important and valued.

Thank you for your support.

Thank you,
Sandy Wyche Adams ’86
