Three Women’s Sports Post Standout Seasons
During the COVID-19 pandemic, just being able to compete against other teams was an impressive accomplishment, but three women’s teams – Softball, Lacrosse and the brand-new Acrobatics and Tumbling – posted seasons that were even more reason to show Bobcat pride.

Softball
The Softball team had a historic season that got off to a shaky start. The Bobcats lost their first three straight, but then the team rallied and went on a 21-5 tear over the next two months. In the first full season at the Division II level, the Bobcats reached the Mountain East Conference Tournament Semifinals and set a program record with 80 steals, breaking the previous record of 69 set in 2019.

Acrobatics and Tumbling
Acrobatics and Tumbling’s inaugural season was good enough to qualify for the MEC Championships, where they picked up five victories in the event finals.

Lacrosse
The Lacrosse team earned the distinction of being the first Frostburg program to reach the MEC Championship game in a breakout season in Division II. The team had seen years of tough competition in Division III, and the seniors were able to blend that experience with newer talent to create a particularly potent offense. They ended the season with a 10-5 record, going 8-5 within the MEC.
