Tracey Comer Morris ’94

Accomplishments/Activities:
Raised three amazing children, now 23, 20 and 17. Served on the board of directors of the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce in Cumberland. Coached volleyball at Frankfort Middle and High schools in West Virginia and now coach travel volleyball for Morgantown Volleyball Club.
Favorite FSU memory:
We had sooooo much snow in March one year that they brought dump trucks and front-end loaders into town to get the piled-up snow off of the streets, sidewalks and street corners. The snow continued to fall through the weekend, and because it was my birthday, my roommate and I were determined to go out. There was no way either of our cars could get up the road, so we walked from Grant Street all the way to Gandalf’s through nearly waist-high snow. Any time someone walked through the door of Gandalf’s, everyone cheered. The whole bar celebrated my birthday with me!
What do you hope to accomplish during your time as a board member?
My goal is to have an impact on the alumni relationship with students. I want to support and help bring programming to the students that will help them succeed – whether that is through mentorship programs or through workshops to help them as job seekers (resume assistance, interviewing techniques, etc.). Student engagement is definitely my priority.

What do you hope to accomplish during your time as a board member?
I hope to encourage alumni to re- engage with their alma mater. Additionally, I plan to identify areas where alumni can be of assistance and fill in the gaps for underrepresented student populations.
