The Campaign for Frostburg State University Wraps in December

Forging Futures: The Campaign for Frostburg State University began in July of 2016 with the ambitious goal of raising $25 million by Dec. 31, 2023, significantly more than the $16.7 million raised in the last FSU campaign ending in 2011. That goal was achieved in Augof 2023, but the FSU Foundation Board of Directors felt the momentum for campaign support was growing and decided to extend the campaign another two years until Dec. 31, 2025. That decision has proven to be correct as the University has raised an additional $7 million during that time with another ten months to go. The beneficiaries of this generosity have been FSU’s students with over half of the gifts having been for scholarships. Academic and athletic departments have also benefitted from the generosity of over 17,000 donors who have made campaign gifts, many of whom have made more than one gift. During this time, the FSU Foundation’s endowment has grown from about $20 million to over $46.6 million.

The past three years have been exceptionally strong for the campaign, with records being set each of those years, including over $5.3 million raised in FY24John Short, executive director of the FSU Foundation and vice president of the Division of Advancement and Regional Engagement, knows that the success of this campaign would not have been possible without the support of alumni and friends of FSU

We are extremely grateful to those alumni and other friends which have made this support for the University, our students and the region possible," Short said. "As we approach the end of this record-setting campaign, I hope that all alumni will consider making a gift commensurate with their interest and financial capacityThe size of the gift doesn’t matter as they all add up, with almost 6,500 donors making a gift of $99 or less and another over 4,600 donors making a gift of $100 to $499."
