Pinnacle Award

Jeff Fegan '76, Former Foundation Board Member and Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award Recipient

The FSU Foundation’s Pinnacle Award recognizes those who have made significant contributions of time, talent or treasure in support of the educational mission of Frostburg State University through the FSU Foundation.

It is the Foundation's highest honor, and Jeff Fegan '76 is only the 12th recipient of this prestigious award. It is evident that Fegan embodies everything that this award stands for.

Fegan served on the FSU Foundation Board from 2011-2020, not only as an officer but also as one of the co-chairs during the quiet phase of Forging Futures: The Campaign for Frostburg State University. He has also volunteered his time to address the student body as a Commencement Speaker and has hosted alumni events at his home in Texas. Fegan received the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award in 2012.

Long before Fegan joined the Foundation board, he and his wife Carol Sunderland Fegan '76 contributed to the FSU Foundation. In addition to being a leadership donor to the Annual Fund and an ardent supporter of many Foundation funds, the Fegans also endowed two scholarship funds - the Jeffrey P. and Carol A. Fegan Presidential Merit Scholarship and the A. Margaret and James C. Sunderland Nursing Scholarship.

Fegan's nomination letter for this award noted, “His wisdom at board meetings was instrumental to making informed decisions, and most importantly is his untiring and long-standing support of our beloved alma mater.”
