2026 Pinnacle Award
The Pinnacle Award recognizes those who have made significant contributions of Time, Talent or Treasure in support of the educational mission of Frostburg State University through the FSU Foundation.
Col. Ronald G. Forrester '67 and Dr. Joe Lambert '79
Colonel Ronald G. Forrester '67 is a lifelong leader, dedicated volunteer and passionate ambassador for Frostburg State University. He is a retired Senior Military Analyst who dedicated his 45-year career to supporting the United States Department of Defense, in which he served in a variety of roles.
He served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors for over two decades, including multiple leadership roles including President (two terms), President-Elect, Immediate Past President and committee chair. During his tenure, he helped strengthen board governance through bylaw revisions, redesigned selection processes for multiple alumni awards and created new award criteria to recognize both emerging and long-standing alumni leaders. Forrester also recruited, mentored and supported new board members, ensuring strong and consistent leadership for the Association. In addition, he served on the Foundation Board of Directors from 2009-2026.
A founding father of Alpha Delta Chi Fraternity, Forrester has remained deeply engaged in preserving its legacy and strengthening lifelong connections among its members. He has helped establish and endow multiple scholarships, supported initiatives honoring fraternity founders and contributed to recognition efforts that raised significant support for Bobcat Athletics. His leadership helped the fraternity earn both the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award and the Service to Alma Mater Award.
Forrester is also a recipient of both of those awards himself, recognizing his exceptional service, leadership and commitment to his alma mater.
Alongside his wife Dee, Forrester has made an extraordinary impact through philanthropy, including endowed scholarships, annual support of the University Fund and Veterans Center and the creation of student learning spaces in the Catherine R. Gira Center for Information Technologies. They are also proud members of the Old Main Society.
The Forresters are the proud parents of Brian and Lisa and grandparents.
Beyond his giving and leadership, Forrester continues to serve as a visible and active ambassador for Frostburg State by attending events, engaging with students and sharing his experiences to inspire the next generation of Bobcats.
