Bittinger Receives FSU President's Distinguished Staff Award
Dr. Sara-Beth Bittinger '00/D'17, associate vice president for Academic Operations and Fiscal Affairs at Frostburg State University, is the 2025 recipient of the President’s Distinguished Staff Award which recognizes a staff member who has provided exceptional service to the University and has helped to advance its mission, goals and priorities. Professors Author Groundbreaking Book on the Protection of Electrical Power Distribution Systems
Dr. Jamil Abdo and Dr. Tariq Masood, faculty members in the Department of Engineering and Sustainable Technology at Frostburg State University, have announced the publication of their new book, “Protection of Electrical Power Distribution Systems: Smart Grid, Microgrid, AI and Cybersecurity." Stevenson Named Permanent Athletic Director
Frostburg State University announced that the interim tag has been removed from Rubin Stevenson’s title making him the University’s permanent athletic director. Stevenson assumed the interim role in July. (Published 12/11/25)
Nursing Faculty Earn Prestigious Dr. Peg E. Daw Nurse Faculty Annual Recognition Award

Two Employees Honored With University System of Maryland Board of Regents Awards
Two Frostburg State University employees have received 2025-2026 University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents awards, the highest honor bestowed by the system on faculty and staff. Donnell VanSkiver, executive administrative assistant to the president, earned the Staff Award for Making a Difference on Campus, and Andy Duncan, professor of English, received the Faculty Award for Excellence in Creative Activity.
