Three Faculty Members Awarded Sabbatical Leave for Spring 2025 Semester
This year, a group of 10 outstanding faculty from Frostburg State University submitted applications requesting sabbatical leave to focus on career goals and other academic interests. Three faculty members, one from each of FSU’s colleges, have been awarded sabbatical leave.
Bittinger Recognized by The Daily Record on 2024 Top 100 Women in Maryland List
The Daily Record has announced the 2024 Top 100 Women in Maryland honorees, and among that list of heavy female hitters is Frostburg State University’s Dr. Sara-Beth Bittinger, associate vice president for Academic Operations and Fiscal Affairs.
David Puthoff Honored With USM Regents' Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching
Dr. David Puthoff, a professor in FSU’s Department of Biology, has received the Regents’ Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching, the highest honor presented by the University System of Maryland Board of Regents (BOR) to recognize exemplary faculty achievements.
VP for Student Affairs, CLC Receive Inaugural Positive People Awards
Dr. Artie Lee Travis, Vice President for Student Affairs at Frostburg State University, and Frostburg’s Children’s Literature Centre (CLC) are among the list of recipients for Allegany County’s inaugural Positive People award. Both were recognized in the Education Support category.
Kim Hinds-Brush Receives Outstanding Student Organization Advisor Award
At the 2024 Frostburg State University Leadership and Engagement Awards celebration held on May 2, Kim Hinds-Brush, FSU’s director of Residence Life and advisor for the Mu Omicron chapter of Phi Mu Delta Fraternity, was honored with the Outstanding Student Organization Advisor Award for support and contributions that go above and beyond her current duties as a staff member.
Dr. Katherine Kinsinger Honored With Outstanding Faculty/Staff Award
At the 2024 Frostburg State University Leadership and Engagement Awards celebration held on May 2 and hosted by the Office of Student Engagement, Dr. Katherine Kinsinger, director of Academic Advising, was honored with the Outstanding Faculty/Staff Award.
Professor in the Department of Communication Awarded $125,000 ARC Grant
Frostburg State University’s professor of Emerging Media, Dr. John Lombardi, was recently awarded a $125,000 grant by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to create a regional community media center.
2024 Faculty Achievement Award Winners Honored at Convocation
Four recipients of the 2024 Faculty Achievement Awards were honored at the Frostburg State University Honors Convocation on Wednesday, May 22, at 6 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center.
FSU Chair of Nursing Named One of The Daily Record's 2024 Leading Women Under 40
Frostburg State University’s associate professor and chair of the Nursing Department, Dr. Kara Platt, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, was recently announced as one of the 2024 Leading Women Under 40 by The Daily Record.
