This award recognizes an outstanding faculty or staff member for their support of and contributions to FSU students over the past academic year. Recipients have demonstrated excellence in their roles on campus and go above and beyond their job duties when interacting with students.

Kinsinger was presented her award by Dr. Sharman Siebenthal, FSU Associate Provost for Student Success and Graduate Services. “It is my privilege to work with and for FSU students,” Kinsinger said. “I am grateful for CAAR staff and other colleagues who work so hard to create meaningful experiences for our students. It really does take a village to support our students in the ways they need and deserve.”

Described as someone willing to go above and beyond for students, Kinsinger’s nomination stated, “Kate has so much going on in her role as the director of academic advising and on the many committees she dedicates time to, however, she always has a spare moment to take care of every student that comes to her. She knows exactly how to make each student feel seen, heard and supported.”

Kinsinger oversees the Center for Academic Advising and Retention (CAAR), which helps students explore curricular and co-curricular opportunities available at FSU to help them define, plan and achieve personal educational goals.
