Luvara Recognized as Outstanding Faculty/Staff

Dr. Angela Luvara, an assistant professor in FSU’s Department of Sociology and the coordinator of Women’s Studies at FSU, was honored with the Outstanding Faculty/Staff Award at the 2023 University Leadership and Engagement Awards. The honor recognizes a faculty or staff member for their support of and contributions to FSU students.

Described as “fearless, kind and considerate,” Luvara is a fierce ally to the LGBTQ+ community, always encouraging her students to join in her activism. As the coordinator of Women’s Studies at FSU, Luvara helps her students explore the impact that women have had across cultures and throughout history.
