Applied Math Courses

If you’re a math or engineering major, math minor, interested in FSU’s interdisciplinary Data Science minor, or just want to explore the world of math applications, take Math 280 (Applied Statistics), 432 (Differential Equations), 470 (Math Models), and more!

 Class with laptops

In 280 with Dr Justin Dunmyre, you’ll collaborate with peers to uncover the inner workings of statistics and data analysis, including coding in R! In 432 with Dr Sureka Pathmanathan, you’ll explore the wild world of rates of change to study populations, physics, and more! In Math 470 with Dr Frank Barnet, you’ll build your very own math models of real-world phenomena, such as population growth, radiocarbon dating, and even how long to cook a turkey, all while using the math programming software Mathematica!
