Summer Session 2021

There’s no need for learning to stop when the weather gets hot! Frostburg State University’s Summer Sessions provide a way for you to make the most of your summer and accelerate your academic career. Taking a summer course can put you back on track to graduate on time, help you graduate early, or lighten your schedule for next year. And with a variety of on-campus and online classes to choose from, you can keep on learning wherever the summer takes you!

Summer Session isn’t just for FSU students. Undergraduates and graduates at other colleges, high school students, and lifelong learners are more than welcome to attend class online or enjoy Frostburg’s balmy weather on-campus. FSU offers six sessions throughout the summer, so there’s sure to be an intriguing course that fits your schedule.

Apply for Summer Session

Pick a student category below for instructions on how to apply for Summer Session.

  • Current FSU Students

    If you are already enrolled at FSU, whether undergraduate or graduate, you can register for Summer Session classes with no additional paperwork. Simply contact your advisor to activate Summer Session, and then register through PAWS.

    Log into PAWS Registration System

  • Rising High School Seniors

    High school students who will be seniors in the next school year may enroll in Summer Session by completing the Online Application and paying the $45 application fee. When completing the online application, in the Program Selection area, please choose Non-Degree from the list so you can choose the Summer 2021 term.

    You also need to obtain a recommendation from your high school counselor or principal.

    Permission to enroll in the Summer Session is not admission to undergraduate programs at FSU.

    Online Application

  • New & Non-FSU Undergraduates

    Non-FSU students may enroll in Summer Session by completing the Online Application and paying the $45 application fee. When completing the online application, in the Program Selection area, please choose Non-degree from the list, so that you can choose the Summer 2021 term. Once you have your FSU student ID, you can register for Summer Session classes in PAWS, FSU's online registration system. If you wish to take courses for which there are prerequisites, you might need to provide a copy of your current college transcript.

    Permission to enroll in the Summer Session is not admission to undergraduate programs at FSU.

  • New & Non-FSU Graduate Students

    Visiting and new graduate students need to apply for graduate study at FSU before they can register for graduate-level Summer Session classes. Complete the Graduate Application for Admission, send all official transcripts and pay the $45 application fee. Once you have your FSU student ID, you can register for Summer Session classes in PAWS, FSU’s online registration system.

    You can apply as a degree-seeking or non-degree seeking graduate student for programs which offer summer admission. Visit our Graduate Studies homepage or call 301.687.7053 for information on graduate programs at Frostburg.

Printable PDFs of the Enrollment Permission and course Registration forms are available in the Summer Session booklet. You can check course availability through the Registrar’s Course Search or the Summer Session Class Schedule. Forms, tuition, and the application fee should be mailed to:
