Emergency Aid Resources for Students
The changes to our educational and living situations have created hardships for many of our students. Here are some resources to help alleviate these situations:
CARES Act/Stimulus Funds Assistance
U.S. Department of Education has issued federal funds to be distributed to students to help cover financial hardship. Student and institutional reports are available here.
CARES Act/Stimulus Funds Distribution Information
UPDATED MAY 3, 2021: Payments to students have been processed and distributed.
CARES Act Information
- UPDATE: All of the University's CARES Act Funding Reports can be found here.
- A work group composed of four administrators and two student leaders was formed to develop the criteria for applying and issuing awards, following guidelines issued by the Department of Education. Input from the students was critical to the development of both the criteria and the process. The goal was to provide relief to those students with the greatest need — not a blanket, equal distribution of the funds to all students without regard to need.
- The awards were designed to assist students whose financial circumstances were affected negatively as a direct result of the interruption of on-campus studies caused by COVID-19. These circumstances could include housing, utilities, food, transportation, technology, childcare, etc.
