MAT - Elementary
Curriculum and Course Sequence

The Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary program is a 12 month full-time program that begins in the first summer session (May) and ends in following spring session (May). It requires the student to attend full time for three semesters and the intersession. The summer session is held each evening from 5 to 9 p.m. and beginning the fall session students are placed full time in a school placement. Course work is linked and integrated with the school placement in fall and spring sessions. Beginning in the fall, the program becomes a full-time day time program as the student is required to complete 100 days of teaching practicum between fall and spring semesters. Students enter the program as a cohort and progress through the course sequence together.

MAT - Secondary
Curriculum and Course Sequence

The Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary program is a 12 month full-time program that begins in the first summer session (May) and ends in following spring session (May). It requires the student to attend full time for three semesters and the intersession. The summer session is held each M-F with day-time coursework and beginning the fall session students are placed full-time in a school placement. Course work is linked and integrated with the school placement. Beginning in the fall, the program becomes a full-time day time program as the student is required to complete 100 days of internship between fall and spring semesters. Students are usually required to come to campus one evening per week beginning fall (every other week) for a blended course. Students enter the program as a cohort and progress through the course sequence together.
