MAT – Elementary
Curriculum and Course Sequence
The Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary program is a 12-month full-time program that begins in May and ends in May and includes summer and intersession. Students are required to complete a minimum 100 days of teaching practicum over two semesters and coursework is integrated with the school placement experience. Students enter the program as a cohort and progress through the course sequence together.
MAT – Secondary
Curriculum and Course Sequence
The MAT Secondary program includes both face-to-face and online learning, with one in-person meeting at the FSU campus each week throughout the summer. Students are required to come to campus weekly for the first six weeks in the fall semester for in-person course meetings, with the majority of coursework moving to online learning after the internship begins. During the fall semester, students are placed full-time in an internship. Students are required to complete at least 100 days of internship between fall and spring semesters and coursework is integrated with the school placement experience. Students enter the program as a cohort and progress through the course sequence together.
