Admission Process
Master of Education – School Counseling
The admission process for the School Counseling program is a continuous process with an admission date that begins in the summer or fall session. The application deadline is April 1. Students are encouraged to apply early to be assured time to complete the admission process.
Interested candidates must follow the below procedures:
- Apply: Application can be made online. Students who are unable to apply online may email gradservices@frostburg.edu and request a paper copy which can be downloaded, printed and sent via US postal service.

Frostburg, MD 21532 - Submit GRE scores or MAT scores if your GPA is below 3.0. GRE School code is 5402. This admission test is not required if your GPA is 3.0 or greater.
- Submit three recommendation contacts at the time of the online application. Students who are applying using paper application should provide references the recommendation forms to be sent directly to FSU. These forms will be an acceptable form of recommendation in lieu of letters. All recommendations must be original and sent to the Office of Graduate Services.

Personal Statement - submitted at the time of online application. Students applying online should submit a personal statement which includes background and career goals.

After receipt of all of the above documents your file will be forwarded to the Program Coordinator for admission review. Your file will be reviewed and if selected, an admissions interview will be scheduled by the Program Coordinator.
