Dr. Kate Kinsinger is the Director of FSU’s Center for Academic Advising & Retention (CAAR), bringing over thirty years of experience in higher education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, a master’s in Student Affairs, and a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh in Social & Comparative Analysis in Education. Serving also as a University Advisor, Kate understands the significant role academic advisors play in students' lives and strives to support them in achieving their goals, even in the face of challenges. Kate is married and has two adult children. She has a deep love for animals and is the owner of multiple pets.

Brittany joined the CAAR team as a University Advisor in May 2021. She has a master's in College Student Development and Administration from Shepherd University and a bachelor's in Psychology from Frostburg State University. Outside of work, Brittany loves spending time with her nieces and dog, discovering new places with friends, and enjoying concerts and theater performances.

Leanna also joined the CAAR team as a University Advisor in May 2021. Previously, she was an Academic Advisor and Tutoring Coordinator at Pitt-Johnstown from 2012 to 2021. Leanna holds an MA in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Living in Bedford, PA, she enjoys hiking, yoga, lifting, refurbishing furniture, and traveling.

Dr. Ryan Gibson

Ryan Gibson completed his Ph.D. in Higher Education from West Virginia University. With a strong foundation in music, he holds a B.A. in Music from The University of Virginia's College at Wise and has also completed graduate work in Vocal Performance and earned his M.A. in Higher Education Administration at WVU. Ryan enjoys music, video games, geeking out about all things Star Wars, and spending time with his partner, Jessie, their 2 dogs, Apollo and Jupiter, and their cat, Kyber.

Suzanne Wright

Suzanne has been an FSU University Advisor since 2023, managing an ever-growing caseload of undergraduate students. She also instructs ORIE 101 for both first-year students and students in need of academic recovery. Before joining CAAR, she served as the Transfer Coordinator at Allegany College of Maryland. She received an undergraduate degree from UMBC and a master's degree from the University of Minnesota. Suzanne is passionate about equitable access to higher ed and is a tireless student advocate. Her motto is, "When my students succeed, I succeed!"

Syully Koroh is a proud Bobcat! She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Master of Education in School Counseling from Frostburg State University. She enjoys travelling and is always keen on exploring diverse cultures and languages. Syully resides in the beautiful Allegany County area with her husband and their dog.

Hannah is an Allegany County native and a proud graduate of Fort Hill High School and Frostburg State University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in School Counseling from FSU. Hannah’s free time is most enthusiastically spent playing video games, enjoying nature, reading, watching documentaries, and enjoying the company of her husband, daughter, three cats.
