In Historic Downtown Frostburg
The Frostburg Center for Literary Arts is happy to announce the sixth annual Nightsun Writers Conference scheduled to be held Thursday, July 27, through Sunday, July 30, in downtown Frostburg, MD.
The conference will feature workshops with Teri Cross Davis (poetry), Andy Duncan (speculative fiction), Alyce Miller (fiction), and Michael O. Snyder (filmmaking).
The program will provide participants with:
- Workshop opportunities
- Individualized attention to and feedback on their work
- Craft sessions
The conference is designed to generate new material for publication, hone the craft of creative writing, and initiate a larger writing community for participants. We're happy to announce that teachers who come to our annual Nightsun Summer Writers Conference can get Continuing Education credit from the Maryland State Department of Education.
The weekend will also include readings by participants, workshop faculty, and special guests.
Cost & Offerings
The cost for participation is $350 plus accommodations and some meals. Recent FSU alumni may attend for $175. There is a $50.00 discount for returning Nightsun participants. There will be an opportunity for a one-on-one faculty conference for an additional cost of $25.00. (Note: Only one discount per participant may be applied to the total cost of the conference.)
For $350 tuition students receive:
- A weekend to study with published writers and to workshop, design, and generate new material and to receive feedback for finished works.
- Opportunity for a one-on-one faculty conference for an additional cost of $25.00.
- The weekend includes a reading of participant work as well as faculty readings.
- Thursday dinner, lunches, and receptions included.
