Ellis Gilbert Glime of Houghton, Mich., died Sept. 4, 2005 at the home of his daughter, Janice Glime.

He was born March 30, 1914, in Frostburg, Md., and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Houghton.

He attained his BS degree from Frostburg State Normal School, now Frostburg State University, and held a master’s degree in education from Penn State University. Ellis taught elementary school in Allegany County, Md., and taught mathematics and physics for the Pottsville Center at Penn State. He also taught mathematics at Montgomery Blair High School, Silver Spring, Md., and was the principal of Damascus High School. He then returned to teaching at Bethesda Junior High School. Ellis was also a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of to the Lions Club and had sold insurance some years ago.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Iola Dyche Glime, whom he married on July 11, 1939, and a brother, William Glime of Connecticut.

Surviving: daughters, Janice Glime of Houghton and Eileen Dumire of South Charleston; sister, LaVerda Oglebay of Silver Spring; and three grandsons, Emmett, Eric and Everett Schneider, all of Morgantown.
