What is Bobcat Giving Day?
Frostburg State University’s Bobcat Giving Day is a 24-hour online fundraising event from noon on April 1 through noon on April 2. It’s 24 hours to bring the Frostburg State community together. Alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and Bobcat fans all over the world come together to make a difference for Frostburg State University!

Why is Bobcat Giving Day different from any other day?
We value your generosity all year long, but there are some special reasons to make your gift on Bobcat Giving Day! Thanks to some amazing donors, FSU will be able to offer several one-time challenge gifts that make every gift that much more important.

Why should I give?
Every donation helps important programs at FSU. Participation shows that you believe in FSU and the different programs it offers. Your participation encourages the participation of others.

Can I mail in a gift?
You are more than welcome to mail in your gift, but due to the short timeframe, only gifts received in the mail by noon on April 1 will count towards Bobcat Giving Day challenges. Make your check payable to FSU Foundation and write “Giving Day” and the fund you would like to support on the memo line. Then mail it to FSU Foundation, 101 Braddock Road, Frostburg, MD 21532.

How much should I give?
Every gift we receive is important, but $20 minimum is required to give online. When you make a gift of $60 or more, you will get a pair of limited-edition Bobcat socks (while supplies last, so make your gift early!). Whatever you can donate is meaningful and will have an impact on our students.

I've already made a gift this year to FSU. Will that count towards Bobcat Giving Day?
Due to the nature of Bobcat Giving Day, gifts made from noon EST on April 1 through noon EST on April 2 count towards Giving Day totals. Other accepted methods of giving will count towards Giving Day if intent is documented (reply envelope, check memo, commitment form, etc.).

Will my monthly recurring gift to FSU be counted towards Bobcat Giving Day?
Due to the nature of Bobcat Giving Day, previously scheduled recurring gifts will not count towards the Bobcat Giving Day total. However, any new recurring gifts started on Bobcat Giving Day will count.

Can I specify what my gift supports?
Yes! You can designate your gift to support any of the FSU Foundation funds supporting departments, scholarships and programs.

What fees do you charge for online giving?
None. 100% of your gift goes directly into the fund of your choice.

What is the FSU Foundation Board of Directors Challenge?
The Frostburg State University Foundation Board of Directors has issued a challenge to Bobcat Giving Day donors. The fund with the most DONORS (not dollars) at noon on April 2 will receive an additional $10,000!

What is the $5K Challenge?
Once we reach our goal of 500 donors during the day, an additional $5,000 will be unlocked to benefit the FSU Annual Fund in support of the greatest needs on our campus, including scholarships, emergency funding and technology.

How do I get a pair of Bobcat socks?
When you make a gift of $60 or more, you will get a pair of limited-edition Bobcat socks (while supplies last, so make your gift early!).

Is my payment secure?
Yes! All gifts are processed through GiveCampus. GiveCampus does not store or save your credit card information. This sensitive data is handled exclusively by a PCI-compliant payment processor.

Is my gift tax-deductible? When will I receive my tax receipt?
Yes. Your gift is eligible for a tax deduction in accordance with IRS regulations during the calendar year that you make your gift. Consult your tax professional for more information. You will receive by email a receipt for tax purposes within minutes of making your gift online. If you mailed a gift, we will mail a receipt back to you within days of our acceptance of your gift.
