FSU Salary Guidelines - Fiscal Year 2022

The FY 2022 salary information is consistent with the University System of Maryland (USM) salary guidelines, salary structures in place, and Executive Committee consensus. The following salary guidelines were provided and apply to all faculty and staff employees in Regular or Contingent status, regardless of the source of funding for the employee's position.
Exempt PIN Employees
- Merit Increase: No merit increases or other increases to base pay for performance or tenure are authorized.
- Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA): No cost-of-living adjustment is currently planned.
- Exempt Salary Structure: The exempt salary structure will remain in place.
Exempt Contingent II Employees
- Merit Increase: No merit increases or other increases to base pay for performance or tenure are authorized.
- Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA): No cost-of-living adjustment is currently planned.
- Exempt Salary Structure: The exempt salary structure will remain in place.
Exempt Contingent I Employees I Adjunct Faculty
- Merit Increase: No merit increases or other increases to base pay for performance or tenure are authorized.
- Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA): No cost-of-living adjustment is currently planned.
Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty
- Merit Increase: No merit increases or other increases to base pay for performance or tenure are authorized.
- Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA): No cost-of-living adjustment is currently planned.
Full-Time Tenure None-Tenure Track Faculty
- Merit Increase: No merit increases or other increases to base pay for performance or tenure are authorized.
- Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA): No cost-of-living adjustment is currently planned.
Nonexempt PIN Employees
- Merit Increase: No merit increases or other increases to base pay for performance or tenure are authorized.
- Cost of Living Adjustment {COLA): No cost-of-living adjustment is currently planned.
- Nonexempt Staff Salary Structure: The nonexempt structure will be adjusted for Fiscal Year 2022. At the beginning of the first full pay period after June 30, 2021, the nonexempt salary structure will be increased by 1.9%. Any salary falling below the new salary structure minimum will be increased to the new minimum.
Nonexempt Contingent II Employees
- Merit Increase: No merit increases or other increases to base pay for performance or tenure are authorized.
- Cost of Living Adjustment {COLA): No cost-of-living adjustment is currently planned.
- Nonexempt Staff Salary Structure: The nonexempt structure will be adjusted for Fiscal Year 2022. At the beginning of the first full pay period after June 30, 2021, the
nonexempt salary structure will be increased by 1.9%. Any salary falling below the new salary structure minimum will be increased to the new minimum.
Nonexempt Contingent I Employees
- Merit Increase: No merit increases or other increases to base pay for performance or tenure are authorized.
- Not eligible to receive the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA).
Minimum Wage
The minimum wage for Maryland workers is scheduled to increase to $12.50 per hour starting January 1, 2022. The minimum wage applies to all USM employees, including student employees and general assistants.
