Getting assistance with research

Finding articles, Books & more with SearchCat

SearchCat searches across the Ort Library's resources and collections. It brings together article databases, the library catalog, and e-books, as well as other online resources provided by the library all with a single search. Search results also include books from other Maryland academic libraries which may be requested for delivery to Frostburg. 

Finding specific databases with A-Z Databases 

Locate one of approximately 85 individual research databases available to the Frostburg State University community in this alphabetical list.  You may also view the databases according to category, type or provider or search for a specific database. 

Finding online journals and magazines with Journal Search

Journal Search lets you check on the availability of online journals, magazines, and newspapers.  

Using Google Scholar

Google Scholar lets you search for scholarly articles using the familiar Google search engine.

Using Subject and Course Guides

Subject Guides and Course Guides are customized web pages created for specific subjects or classes at FSU. Subject guides will provide links to recommended databases and other resources for a variety of subject areas. Course guides are created for specific classes.
