Several members of Frostburg State University leadership recently received the Impact Leader Award from the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). Dr. Ronald Nowaczyk, president of FSU; Dr. Artie Travis, vice president of Student Affairs; Dr. Jeffrey Graham, senior associate vice president of Student Affairs; and Robert Cooper, director of Student Life, were nominated for the awards by the FSU NSLS chapter.
The Impact Leader Award recognizes individuals who made a valuable contribution to NSLS by exemplifying a commitment to excellence in developing student leaders. The students within the FSU chapter of NSLS nominated each of the recipients for their service to FSU and commitment to continuing to build the student leaders of our future world.
Nowaczyk was chosen by the students for his ability to provide support when students call upon him and to thank him for his hard work in building student leadership by overseeing FSU.
Travis was nominated for his continual support of all FSU students in building their leadership skills. He is also a member of NSLS.
Graham was nominated for his continual support of programs provided by NSLS to build student leaders. He assists the organization whenever help is needed, and his support has allowed the organization to continue to grow.
Cooper was the first advisor recruited when NSLS returned to FSU and helped with the creation of the executive board. He assisted in helping build student leaders through those positions.
NSLS started at FSU in the fall of 2019 and since then has inducted more than 600 members. All inducted members have completed leadership training as part of their induction.
