Frostburg State University recently announced a new partnership with Elior Collegiate Dining, which became effective May 23, to bring delicious and diverse dining options to the campus community across all campus dining locations. The University’s previous food service contract with Chartwells expired at the end of this semester. Aladdin won the bid process after a selection committee reviewed proposals for a new food service vendor.

“I want to thank Chartwells for providing food services to our campus over the last 11 years,” said Troy Donoway, vice president for Administration and Finance at FSU. “I would also like to thank the selection committee for their time, effort and contributions to this process.”

Elior has been serving higher education dining programs for over 40 years. The company’s mission “starts with providing the best possible college dining experience for every student so that their college life experience thrives.” The Bobcat Dining Executive Chef and his team will use fresh food featuring seasonal ingredients to bring a diversified brand portfolio to life in FSU’s Chesapeake Dining Hall.

Students can look forward to exciting new concepts and expanded menu options opening in the fall which will include Classic Kitchen, Local Deli, Primi Fresh Pasta Bar, Flame, Global Fare, Sweet Shop and an expansive salad bar. Chick-fil-A, Starbucks and Hissho Sushi will remain in the new and reimagined space in FSU’s Lane University Center.

Additionally, Elior will introduce Firehouse Subs as the replacement to FSU’s current sandwich shop option, and the University’s convenience store will now be available to students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Other capital improvements to the dining areas are currently underway.

“We were extremely impressed with Elior’s culinary, high-quality service and the creative resources they bring to the table,” said Donoway. “Their team will exceed our guests’ expectations from everyday nourishing food options to innovative food concepts that keep our students engaged and well fed.”

Finally, Elior has partnered with celebrity chef Fabio Viviani to bring innovation to campus dining. Concepts will include Good Habit, an American eatery; Taco Santo, inspired by Mexico’s street food; Santorini, featuring vibrant flavors of Eastern Mediterranean; and Buena Napoli, Roman style pizza and stuffed calzones.

“We are very excited about this partnership with Frostburg State University and look forward to offering a top tier culinary experience to students, faculty and staff,” said Daniel Meyer, Operations Support Manager for Elior.
