The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) has reaffirmed Frostburg State University’s institutional accreditation through 2032. Frostburg, including its instructional sites in Hagerstown and China, continues to meet the requirements put in place by the MSCHE in its seven rigorous and comprehensive Standards of Excellence.
“I want to extend my gratitude to the FSU community for their collective participation in the Middle States team site visit in March and for many years of collaboration to produce Frostburg’s final self-study document,” said FSU interim president Darlene Brannigan Smith, PhD. “Our document clearly demonstrated the University’s commitment to continuous improvement.”
MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation that accredits degree-granting institutions in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The MSCHE site visit team’s findings addressed many facets of the University, provided a holistic acknowledgement of the great things that FSU is doing and collaboratively shared ideas for helping FSU continue a sustainable path forward. “We will work together to make enhancements to our strategic plan using the collegiate advice we received from the Middle States team as a blueprint,” said Dr. Smith.
