Frostburg State University’s Department of Music, Theatre and Dance Presents Chamber Singers Recital

Frostburg State University’s Department of Music, Theatre and Dance will present its Chamber Singers, conducted by Scott Reiker, in a concert titled “Sacred Service,” in the B’er Chayim Synagogue, 107 W. Union St. in Cumberland on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Featuring the FSU Chamber Singers and Cantor Jessica Roskin from B’er Chayim, FSU and B’er Chayim are proud to present Ernest Bloch’s 20^th Century masterpiece, “Avodath Hakodesh.” While not often performed, Bloch’s exquisite marriage of ancient Hebrew texts from the Shabbat service with music that is both enchanting and challenging is a performance not to be missed.
