Our students in Building Materials are shaping the future—one formwork at a time. They build frameworks for concrete specimens that are later tested under pressure. Amid steel, wood, and the hum of tools, we study innovative materials such as GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer), hemp FRP, and basalt FRP—non-corrosive, stronger, more durable, and more sustainable alternatives that represent the next generation of infrastructure. Here, students don’t just study materials—they build, test, and experience sustainability in real time. This is Sustainable Construction Management at Frostburg State University, where the lab is the classroom and the future is already under testing.
