Liz Skidmore
College of Business, Engineering, and Computational & Mathematical Sciences Alumnus of the Year, 2008
Since co-founding Robison & Skidmore Professional Real Estate Services in 1991, Liz Skidmore has developed the company into the area’s largest and most successful real estate and appraisal companies.
A thirty two year veteran of the real estate industry, Liz was previously a branch manager for a regional firm where she was a consistent top producer and set several company sales records.
Robison & Skidmore was co-founded and co-owned by Liz and Clarence “Robbie” Robison. The company began with a staff of eleven sales agents and appraisers, and actually began operation in the basement of Skidmore’s residence until construction was completed on their office building on National Highway in LaVale. Within two years the company had surpassed its five-year projections and had over thirty sales agents and appraisers.
Liz became sole owner of the company in 1999. In 2007 she acquired Coldwell Banker Workmeister Realtors and merged the two brokerages forming Coldwell Banker Professional Real Estate Services. Last year the firm was named the number one Coldwell Banker franchise in the State of Maryland.
Liz comes from a Frostburg State University family. Her grandmother, mother, father, sister, brother, son and daughter are all Frostburg graduates. She is a member of LaVale Baptist Church where she serves on the finance committee, and she was a past-president of the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce and the Historic Highlands Association of Realtors.
Liz is the mother of two children. Travis is in sales in Houston, Texas and Donna is a mental health therapist who lives in Frostburg. Liz resides in LaVale and enjoys spending any spare time at her camp along the South Branch in West Virginia.
