The FSU Economics Department and the FSU Economics Club organized and hosted an in-person/online panel discussion with FSU economics graduates on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. The purpose of this panel was to give current economics students an insight into employment and education perspectives from recent alumni with their experience with employment and graduate school search and admission process. The President of the FSU Economics Club, Kolby Hendricks, led the discussion. The economics graduates of 2022, Ivy Mackereth, Kevin Reughter, and Victoria Rosser shared their recent experiences in securing employment or getting into graduate school. The economics graduates of 2016, Andrew Blank and Nicholas Buckel discussed their work experiences and growth to the mid-level economics and business positions with the Bureau of Labor Statistics and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, respectively. The current economics students then asked open-ended questions about the key courses to take and major skills to obtain while being in the economics program at FSU. Twelve students and five economics graduates attended the panel along with Associate Dean, Dr. Ali Ashraf and Dr. Oleg Kucher.
