Chory's MGMT 356 Students Participate in Research Symposium

Students in Dr. Rebecca M. Chory’s Spring 2023 MGMT 356: Leadership and Human Behavior course conducted team research projects investigating a variety of leadership and organizational behavior topics in the context of Frostburg State University’s 125th anniversary. Three student teams from the course presented their research in a poster session at FSU’s Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on May 5, 2023. The presented projects examined management strategies, organizational power, and the university’s relationships with diverse populations over the university’s 125-year history.
Three student teams from Dr. Rebecca M. Chory’s Spring 2023 MGMT 356: Leadership and Human Behavior course presented their course research projects in a poster session at FSU’s Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on May 5, 2023. Students in Dr. Chory’s course conducted team research projects investigating a variety of leadership and organizational behavior topics in the context of Frostburg State University’s 125th anniversary. The presented projects examined management strategies, organizational power, and the university’s relationships with diverse populations over the university’s 125-year history.
Javon Blackmon, Junior Business Administration major with a Marketing concentration and a Management minor; Erin Hughes, Senior Psychology major with a Child & Family Psychology emphasis and an Industrial and Organizational Psychology minor; Jacques Marly Metayer, Senior Communication Studies major; and Vitoria Tulloch, Junior Business Administration major with a Small Business/Entrepreneurship concentration presented “History of Divine 9 Greek Organizations at Frostburg State University.” This study investigated the impact of Divine 9 fraternities and sororities on the experiences of black students attending FSU, a predominantly white institution.
Kamara Jeremiah, Junior Communication Studies major with Leadership Studies and Marketing minors, presented “The History of Dining Options at FSU,” which examined Classical Management principles as they applied to the evolution of FSU’s Chesapeake Dining Hall and Lane University Center restaurants.
Jada Jones, Sophomore Psychology major with a Small Business/Entrepreneurship minor, and Braden Poling, Sophomore Nursing (Pre-licensure/Pre-BS) major presented “The “Lost” City of Frostburg State University.” This project focused on power and leadership in the establishment and displacement of the former Brownsville community in Frostburg.
