Dean Re-appointed to CHEA Committee on Recognition

Frostburg State University's Dean for the College of Education, Health & Natural Sciences, Dr. Boyce Williams, has been re-appointed to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation's Committee on Recognition. Her new three-year term is effective Jan. 1, 2024.
The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) advocates "for the value and independence of accreditation, recognition of accrediting organizations and commitment to quality in higher education."
The Committee on Recognition, on which Dr. Williams serves, is responsible for reviewing accrediting organizations’ applications for recognition and makes recognition recommendations to the Board.
Members of this committee are appointed by the CHEA Board upon recommendation of the CHEA staff and is comprised of individuals who represent higher education leadership, faculty, accrediting organizations, and others with expertise and experience in accreditation and academe.
