The Physician Assistant (PA) program demonstrates its involvement in continuous program improvement. Under the direction of Dr. Todd Doran, the program has spent the last year completing a self-study review for continuing accreditation (PA-ARC). The program has been engaged in a systematic review and analysis of all its courses, clinicals and delivery of instruction. To address the low passage rate of candidates on the PA licensing exam, the program faculty have incorporated specific teaching strategies into their courses that align with the items where students are having trouble that allows faculty to evaluate using data-driven processes that are measurable. Through this process the faculty is focused on outcomes that are measurable. For the first time in the last three years the student success rate on the PANCE licensing exam was well above the required pass rate for licensing. The program is scheduled to host its mock accreditation visit in spring, 2025.
