Sustainability Studies

Minor

Enhance your degree with expertise in one of today's growing career fields.

Whether your primary degree is in business, biology, the humanities, social science or something else, a minor in sustainability will help prepare you to look at decisions with an eye toward how they will impact future generations and the environment.

Eemployers such as private businesses, government agencies and nonprofit organizations value skills in sustainability. Organizations are working to meet the demands of a world that continually becomes more environmentally aware.

Frostburg State University’s sustainability minor gives students a way to add an extra credential to their bachelor’s degree and gain a career edge in a rapidly growing field.

Sustainability is a growing field that crosses many different occupations including, but not limited to, management, science, engineering and government. The field is new enough that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics does not post statistics about anticipated job growth. However, it is important enough and growing at such a rapid pace that the bureau devoted an entire section of its website to green careers, income potential and survey data.
