Mrs. Melanie K. Lombardi
FSU-TV3 Manager

Mrs. Lombardi, a native of the Cumberland area, began her video production career as a free-lance videographer and production assistant in the Baltimore and DC area. She worked on different productions such as multi-camera recital productions for Jo-Mar Productions, commercial shoots and teleconferencing meetings for various companies. She came to Frostburg State University initially as a Teaching Assistant in January of 2000.  She then became the Cable Channel Manager of FSU-TV3 in July of 2000.

As manager, she helped develop multi-camera production field units used to film meetings, concerts, athletic events, university commencement ceremonies, and much more. She also has executive produced several series and is currently the advisor of the Creative Communication Club which produces content for the university and the channel.

In 2005 the mass communication program and FSU-TV3 moved into the Gira Center for Communications and Information Technology, a brand-new facility featuring industry-standard high-definition television production capabilities.

Working in a state-of-the-art facility has allowed graduates to transition into the work force after producing a variety of studio shows and other events. Melanie is proud of the alumni who have worked with her and her colleagues to achieve their professional goals as producers, editors, and owners of their own companies.

 In her free time, she enjoys gardening, kayaking, hiking, traveling, and cooking.
